Investing.com – The Federal Open Market Committee lowered its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points Wednesday.

  • The FOMC to a range of 1.75% to 2% from 2% to 2.25%.
  • The market had been pricing in more than a the Fed would cut by a quarter point.
  • The fell 0.5%, compared with a 0.2% loss before the announcement.
